How to prevent stress?

Stress is often lurking in the background when an illness strikes. Maybe you have caught the flu that has been floating around work and you notice that you always seem to catch the latest thing that is doing the rounds, be it the flu at work or the cold at your daughter's kindergarten. It could well be that you are stressed out and this has affected your immune system and made you more susceptible to these types of complaints. And while it is easy to take cough drops or an honey-n-lemon drink for the cold it is not quite so obvious how to treat stress.

The secret to treating stress is that prevention is better than cure. Staying on top of stress is the best solution to beating stress. The good news is that techniques for preventing stress are easy to learn.

Here are some simple ways to prevent stress :

Don't take on too much - remain realistic about what you can do. Don't be afraid to turn things down because you think you may miss out on a promotion.

Have some down time - allow yourself to switch off from everyday reality. Take on a hobby. Do some exercise. Play a game of squash. Go out for a meal and a movie. Have some fun, life is not always serious.

Treat yourself - if you have had a hard day, why not run a hot bath and spend a few hours soaking your weary body and reading a trashy novel

Keep in touch with friends - your true friends will look out for you. They will know when you are down and how to pick you up. Often talking to your friends is the reality check you need when stress is making you depressed.

Laugh - see something funny or see the funny side in something. Having a sense of humor will never allow stress to make you take things too seriously.

For people that are chronically stressed out take up meditation or yoga. These types of activities can help you to change how your body responds to stress and can help you to relax more completely.

Where people fail in combating stress is that they are not disciplined enough to follow through with common stress management techniques because they are lazy, get in a rut or don't believe the techniques work.

Or, worse still, they don't listen to their body when it is telling them that they are getting stressed out and never try to reduce stress. They don't listen, out of some sort of pride, or they justify enduring stress because they have a duty to provide for their family. Whilst this is an understandable reaction, in the long run they will be worse off and so will their family. Listen to the warnings your body gives you.

Dating Websites Online Give Your Love Strategy a Boost

The love letter generation, the chocolate giving period and the long courtship age is long gone; written in the history pages of dating. A lot of people now prefer to browse dating websites online. These types of sites are the newest and hottest form of dating. They allow you to browse through different personalities from coast to coast in just a few clicks of the mouse. This is what 21st century dating is about: bold, more elaborate, and more exciting.

If you attempt to use one of the many dating websites online as part of your new strategy to find a kind of love that you never found, or a new love; then you need to consider these few, but important facets that are part of most dating websites online:

Your Photo

Your photo, most of the time, will be responsible for making your first impression on others at the dating website you choose to become a member of. Always use current pictures of yourself; it is also necessary that you try to make a good impression by posting the most flattering pictures you have of yourself. Your photos should capture your personality. It's best if you can have a good mix of tasteful, candid, shots and professionally done photos.

Your Profile

Another major component of most dating websites online is a profile. You will have to determine the kind of information you would like to include in your profile. It's important that you don't treat your profile like a boring, autobiography. It's best if you can keep your profile light, witty, and make yourself a tad mysterious. You want the other person, after reading it, to have a real desire to want to know more and to want to contact you.

It's never a good idea to put false information in your profile, just to make yourself sound better. You should never start a relationship under false pretenses. Remember, honesty is just as important as being witty and mysterious.

Knowing what Attracts the Opposite Sex

Most people who browse dating websites online are trying to find someone to get into the right relationship with; it is vital that you have an idea of what really attracts the opposite sex. By knowing this, you can better tailor your profile to attract members of the opposite sex.

Women, in general, are looking for men who are handsome, mature, confident, funny, stable, and interesting. Also; guys, at least have a clean, unwrinkled, shirt on in your photos. A little fashion sense can go a long way with women.

Men, on the other hand, in general look for women who are sexy, funny, smart, confident, and fun to be around. Ladies, while showing off in your profile picture in a bikini may bring you more messages than you can handle, it's also not recommended. Do you really want guys who are after you for that proverbial one thing? You can be sexy, but tasteful and still have a lot
of success with those browsing the dating websites online.

Man or woman, if your looks aren't the best, don't fret. It doesn't mean you're doomed. Your personality can go a long way. You'll just have to put extra effort into what you write in your profile. Also, remember, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The more people you get yourself in front of, the better the chance you'll find someone who thinks you're the perfect match for them and vice versa.

As the new age of dating unfolds, don't you think it’s time to give your love strategy a boost, by checking out some dating websites online to join?

Why An Online Dating Website Can Be Simply Irresistible

If it has been too long since you got out and met new people and your love life is going nowhere, it may be time to give an online dating website a chance. Yes, a lot of people are clamoring to dating sites to try them and experience for themselves this contemporary way of dating.

If you try an online dating website, you have nothing to be ashamed or embarrassed about. In fact, they have become pretty main stream now. Gone are the days of conventional dating that require you to go out on a Friday and/or Saturday night to a smoke filled, overcrowded, ear numbing club or bar just to go guy or girl hunting.

Going to a bar and paying ridiculous prices for alcohol can be a thing of the past. Let's not even get into how every person in the place is probably passing judgment. Let's not forget how you usually have to deal with creepy and/or obnoxious people by going the more traditional route of trying to find a soul mate.

Because there are so many online dating websites, it's very easy for you to choose an ideal online dating website that fits all of your interests and needs. On an online dating website, it's very easy to find people who have hobbies, an occupation, or interests in common with you. Best of all, unlike when you go out, you'll be able to easily sort people based on criteria you would like met. Try doing that in a bar or club. Here are three reasons why you should consider becoming a member of an online dating website:

1. Privacy

Going out on weekends to go bar hopping or clubbing can be fun, however, for the reasons mentioned above, it may not be the ideal way to meet someone you would be interested in romantically. Also, you have to put yourself out there, in public. By joining an online dating website, you can sit in the comfort of your own place. You can browse online profiles in your underwear, if you want.

2. A Wide Range of Selection

A lot of people join an online dating website because the amount of prospects are usually almost limitless. If you join a popular online dating website there will be new people signing up literally, hourly. Whatever you are looking for in a person, can easily be found at an online dating website. You'll know in a few minutes whether they're right for you or not, just by looking at their pictures and reading their online dating profile. If no one on the site catches your eye, no problem. Most of the time you just have to wait a day or two and there will be more people who join and you're bound to be interested in at least one of them.

3. One Common Purpose: Searching

Think about how many times you've been out and someone caught your eye; so you try to make a move, only to find out they are already taken! When you join an online dating website, most everyone on the site is single and looking. As mentioned above, you can easily find someone based on the criteria you choose. Best of all, when you find someone who meets your criteria, they'll probably be looking for someone that meets the same criteria as you, so you're almost assured that you'll be compatible with them.

If you're sick of the same old routine, and you're ready to find someone to connect with romantically; then it may very well be time you join an online dating website today!

What To Look For When Choosing Dating Websites Online

In the past, the number of dating websites online was relatively small, and nearly all of them asked for some kind of a fee from their users in order to continue operating. These dating websites online were earning as much as $50 per person, per month, and they required that new members fill out lengthy questionnaires. The internet has been changing consistently over time, however, and now there are thousands of free dating websites online that do not ask for any money for membership. When it comes to locating the best free dating websites online, here are some pointers for things that you need to put consideration into -

Privacy - Free dating websites online do not necessarily have to mean that you have no privacy. You can still have your privacy without paying anything for it. You do need to find out if the free dating websites online will sell your information or not. Most do not sell this information but there are still dating services that will take your personal information and pass it on to other parties.

From: letshaveadatenow

Options - You should take the time to look around different free dating websites online to get a feel for what options are available through each. Determine by looking at options and amenities offered by each of these dating websites online which you think will offer the results that you seek. Will the profile allow you to designate whether or not you are looking for friendship or for love? Will it allow you to specify your interests, or what you like to do on a date? If specific dating websites online will not allow you to display the info you want to share, why bother?

Filtering

On any of the free dating websites online that you choose, one of the options that are available should be to block people from contacting you, or filtering them out completely. You should be able to filter out people that are too young for you or too old for you. If you do not want to talk to a specific person, you should not have to put up with them in these dating websites online. The overall experience that each dating service website provides should be good, and the best way to improve the general feeling would be to offering filtering or blocking of this type.

Communication Options

One of the best options for dating websites online is to provide numerous communication options. Sometimes a user just wants to chat with other people rather than looking for Mr. Right or Ms. Right. The site should offer forums, chat rooms, instant messaging, e-mailing and other forms of chatting so that you can connect with other users on the website without necessarily having to be looking for love in the process.

Let's Have a Date Now

Online dating profiles can give you a sense of a person before you take any actions. For instance, you can see what they look like, how old they are, what their profession is, and what their hobbies and interests are. You can either be proactive and contact the people who meet your fancy yourself or put your profile out there and wait for them to contact you. Either way, online dating profiles make it easier to find someone who is right for you.

Here are some tips to help you build a better online dating profiles that will help you attract as many dating partners as possible.

First of all, you should be positive in your profile. Don’t complain about your work, your last flame, If you are positive, you attract people like a magnate.

Too many people use their timidness about using online dating profiles services in a negative fashion. They say “I wasn’t sure about this, but...” This doesn’t leave a positive feeling for potential partners.

Next, you want to be unique. Too many people say they want “long walks on the beach at sunset.” Try to stand out. One way to do this is to use the word “because.” For instance, instead of saying you like country music in your online dating profiles, tell people you like the music “because it speaks to the small town boy that I am.” Go through your profile sentence by sentence and see how you can make yourself unique.

Don’t be generic. Everyone thinks they are honest, creative and spontaneous. Give examples of how you live these values in real life. Tell stories.

Don’t fill your profile with sexual innuendos unless you are prepared for a lot of one night stands. People who are looking for long term relationships are turned off by these comments.

You can also use your online dating profiles to keep people who you don’t want to date from contacting you. Be specific about what you want. Don’t be afraid to specify the age group, professional status, looks, and temperament of your potential date. Also, be descriptive. For instance, tell a man that you would like him to romance you by going to a farmer’s market followed by a stay at a bed and breakfast in a small, picturesque town. Spend at least one third of the profile specifying who you are looking for.

Change your online dating profiles often. Add photos and details of your life. This will push people who were on the edge of asking you out over the edge to actually do so. It will also bring people to your profile who might otherwise have missed you.

Think about the short introduction you would make if you were meeting someone at a singles bar. While you wouldn’t have the benefit of thinking about it ahead of time, you would try to impress the person. With online services, you do have the chance to think about it. That’s how come you can make the best of your online dating profiles.

Smart vs Globe

Which is better for you Smart or Globe?

I will share this experienced with Smart and Globe communication so that you can figure out which is better for you.

During my college days I buy cellphone and the free sim card is smart so I used Smart and I experience a lot in smart services. After seven years my smart sim card was lost and I go to the smart center ask to retained my number. When I asked the technical support to retained my number, he give me the requirement and the requirement is the sim card jacket. I can't give the sim card jacket because it was long time ago and the jacket was lost also. In short I cannot retained my cellphone number.

On that day I decide to buy a new sim card and I buy Globe sim card. When I used Globe sim card that's the time I know and compared which is better. When I used Smart before my load sometimes zero balance even I buy a load and just few text only to my friend not equivalent to the load I buy of 30 pesos. My neighbor also said smart is "theft" to his load. That's what I experience to the smart service.

For now I used Globe communication for 6 months. With globe I save money for the load. The service is reliable and cheap rate. I will recommend to used Globe but other part of the Philippines has no signal for the Globe.

That's what I experience in Globe and Smart.

Build Your Business With Niche Affiliate Marketing

If you want to try your hand at affiliate marketing (why not, it's easy!) but the idea of promoting a bunch of different products you have no interest in doesn't hold much appeal, then niche affiliate marketing is probably for you.  Many people simply look online at the programs and websites that offer the biggest commission for affiliate marketers, they build websites promoting those programs, or they write ads or articles to do so, and they sign up for several different types of programs.  Many of them are programs about how to make money on the Internet, which is one of the hottest types of affiliate marketing programs out there.

But what if you don't care for that scattershot approach of several different types of programs?  And what if the idea of getting started in affiliate marketing by promoting programs that teach affiliate marketing or promise to help customers make money online feels strange to you or makes you uncomfortable (particularly if you haven't used the program, and really don't know if it really delivers on its promises)?  There is a way to make money with affiliate marketing without making yourself uncomfortable with what you're selling, or having to sell several different types of products: niche affiliate marketing.

What knowledge do you have that other people might want?  If you're shaking your head, thinking you couldn't possibly have any valuable knowledge, you're not thinking hard enough.  Think of everything you've done successfully or know how to do.  Just because these things came easily to you, or you think of them as everyday humdrum things in your own life, doesn't mean that other people won't find it fascinating or helpful.  If you have children, that alone is a gold mine of opportunity for affiliate marketing.  Just based on your experience with raising a child, you have advice and tips to offer potential parents who are hungry for information about the best way to do things.  If you've had pets, the same holds true.  If you know how to golf, or spelunk, or catch record-breaking catfish. . . anything you do holds the potential for niche affiliate marketing.

You might be wondering how this leads to niche affiliate marketing.  It's simple.   Let's say your interest is parenting. Find a parenting and child-related merchant that offers an affiliate program.  Once you get that set up, then write an article about parenting. Don't panic, it's not hard!  Simply write a short article, about 500 words or the length of this article about something relating to parenting.  Possibilities are the steps you took to wean your child from bottles or pacifiers, how you began teaching the child to read, home remedies you used for diaper rash.  You don't have to be a writer, you only have to be able to convey that information. Then at the end you put your affiliate link.

The more you write the more people will read and click your link, so the more money you'll earn with niche affiliate marketing.

Maximize Your Profits With Affiliate Marketing Companies

If you'd like to make money online, one of the easiest ways to do so is with affiliate marketing companies.  While affiliate marketing is one of the best ways to make profits online, that can seem overwhelming, especially for a beginner.  Even though it offers all the advantages of e commerce, with none of the drawbacks of running a traditional store, or selling your own goods online, people new to affiliate marketing sometimes feel that there's a ton of information to digest and it's hard to get started.  Even after they understand the concepts and feel ready to begin, the thought of searching through thousands of affiliate programs to find the ones they want to promote can seem daunting.

But affiliate marketing companies make this easy for you.  They're companies in which hundreds of merchants who offer affiliate programs are gathered together in one place.  Once you sign up with the company, you can promote any of the products of any of the companies in that network.

You may have to fill out agreements with each individual company you want to promote, but there's a central place to get your affiliate links, and the entire process is streamlined and uniform.  Once you start the process to become an affiliate marketer for one company, you know that each one will be similar.  This shortens the learning curve and lets you get going very quickly.

Affiliate marketing companies make it easy to find the type of merchant you're looking for.  Once you sign up with them, you can search for certain types of products or services, and find the list of those types of merchants associated with that company.  Then you can review the terms of each one's agreement, like whether you get paid per click, lead or sale, and how much your commission will be, before making decisions on which product or products to promote.

Another advantage of affiliate marketing companies is that the technical work of tracking which of your links are clicked on most often and how many result in sales is monitored by the company.  Your records are online where you can easily see how much you're earning with each individual affiliate account, and all of your click through statistics, all in one place.  You don't have to go to each merchant's account for that information and keep track of everything yourself. Payment is also through the affiliate marketing companies, instead of the individual merchants, so you'll be paid one time for all of your efforts, making bookkeeping more simple.
These companies also typically offer ready-made banners and links to give the new affiliate marketer a starting place.  And great information about how to grow your affiliate business, draw customers and make more profits are readily available for you.  Anyone with Internet access can get started this way and start making money.  So if you're interested in affiliate marketing but need a little help getting started, look into one or several of the online affiliate marketing companies.

Why Choose Affiliate Marketing Partnerships

If you're looking to make some extra money, or build an entire business, online then affiliate marketing partnerships are a great way to get started.  Affiliate marketing partnerships are free, and they're easy

to start.  Just don't make the mistake of thinking that because they're cheap and easy, you won't have to put a little effort in to really succeed.  You can spend thousands of dollars on an “Internet business in a box” and the ads might have you believe that all you do is click a few links in some software, then sit back and let the money roll in.

They may even show successful entrepreneurs kicked back on a beach sipping fruity tropical drinks while their computer does all the hard work.  While affiliate marketing partnerships are an incredibly easy and inexpensive way to get started making money online, you do have to do more than click a few buttons.  It's not hard work, though, if you know how to do it.

Most businesses, whether online or traditional stores, fail.  There are several reasons this happens.  The expenses are more than the business brings in, quickly putting in into the red so deeply that it would take years to see a profit, and no business can operate that way for very long, unless the owners have unlimited capital available to them.

An advantage of affiliate marketing partnerships is that this is unlikely to happen.  You're putting no money out when you sign up with an affiliate program.  And the money that you spend to promote your affiliate merchant can be very minimal, to nothing, depending on how you choose to start out.  So this particular problem retail stores have won't affect your affiliate marketing potential.

Another reason traditional and online stores fail so quickly is that no one buys from them.  You have to have customers, paying customers, to succeed in business.  And in order for a person to become a customer, they have to first enter your store or browse your website.  This is where affiliate marketing programs are brilliant for online merchants.  They get people like you to sign up and promote their product, for a fee, called a commission.

The best way to make money with affiliate marketing partnerships is to maintain a website that you fill with related content.  You can do this inexpensively or you can spend a lot of money, it depends on how much you know about making a website and how much you're willing to learn.  Once you have your site, write

short articles filled with information that people visiting your site want to know.  This makes it more than just a sales portal, it becomes a valuable resource that people will continue to visit, maybe sites with similar content with even link to yours, and more people will click on your affiliate links.
If you can attract people to your site or even write ads that entice people to click links, you can make money with affiliate marketing partnerships.

Why You Should Use SEO Copywriting Services

It's always important to make sure your clients understand what it is they're looking at, whether it's a pamphlet at your office or the home page of your website. SEO (Search Engine Optimization) copywriting services provide writers who will take the information you give them and create the article, blog, or web text that your clients will easily find and understand. By describing your target group the writers will be able to create work that can be read and enjoyed by the people that come to your site so that they'll stay longer. If you specify keywords for your site, they'll also place them in effective places throughout the content so your site can climb its way into the top results from search engines.

Some companies may not realize that when they are selling a product that's geared to a certain group of people, the way they explain what their product is can be just as important as the product itself. Using college level terms when describing a product that is appealing to teenagers can cost you business. Copywriters will not only use any information you give them but also research your product so that your website is designed for the consumer’s ease of use. The longer a customer stays at your page, the more likely they are to make a purchase.

A good flow to the writing is just as necessary as appropriate language. The writers that SEO copywriting services provide are professionals who understand the English language and know how to keep your content interesting and enjoyable to read. No one wants to read sentences that sound as if a robot is talking, so your site should avoid that at all costs. Fortunately, the writers are real people, not robots, so you can rest assured they can get the job done.

Keyword placement is used for getting your site noticed on search engines. Search engines use a certain pattern when finding sites that match what the user is looking for and knowing where to put the keywords in your website's text can make or break your site. If people can't find your site, they can't learn about your product, let alone buy it! Writers will provide thorough research of the keywords you should use and where in your text they should go. The end result: search engines will have you high on their search page results list.

There are many companies on-line that provide these services. Prices will vary depending on the length of text that you need done, the amount of keywords you'd like put in, and of course the provider you chose to go with. Most sites will allow a consultation where they'll look at your site and tell you what to improve if you need to. A good tip: since these are SEO copywriting services that you're looking for, if you find they’re name at the top of the search results page, you can safely assume they do a good job.

The Surefire Path To Search Engine Optimization Advantage

When it comes to marketing on the Internet, search engine optimization is the big thing on everyone’s minds – but how do you get search engine optimization advantage? There is no tried and true way to guarantee results from SEO, as each web site has different needs. The one thing that cannot be denied is, regardless of the “how you do it”, you’ve at least got to do it.

Some aspects of SEO simply can’t be ignored. For instance, keywords – these are the words and phrases that people will put into search bars to find what they need. If you want your search engine optimization to work, you absolutely must understand how keywords work. If you work keywords into your search engine optimization, you’ll definitely increase traffic to your website. If your website serves ads or sells products, then this will give you more page views, click-throughs, and sales.

Link building is another very important part of the SEO process. If your site has a lot of other websites linking to it, even if its links from other pages that belong to you, this can increase your visitors by a lot. The reason for this is that Yahoo! and other search engines take links as positive referrals to your web site. Their logic is that if other people are linking to your site, there must be something worthwhile there. As such, more links will lead to a higher search engine result rank – that’s search engine optimization advantage!

The process that search engines use to search through websites and index them is called “spidering.” The search engines use automated programs, also known as spiders, to “crawl” through the Internet and collect data. The spiders will follow links that they come across before moving on. The more links to your site, the more likely it is that spiders are to crawl to your site and index it in the search engine.

Another way to get search engine optimization advantage is to consistently check how your SEO is going. After all, what good is SEO if you can’t tell if it’s working? In today’s hectic world, you can’t afford to waste time or money on search engine optimization that’s not going to get results. So, you should be sure to check your web site’s ranking in search engines, as well as check keyword trends to make sure your site stays relevant.

Web analytics are a tool that can help you keep track of how your SEO plan is working. These services track all kinds of data – such as which keywords are leading people to you, the numbers of people visiting based on keywords, and which search engines are leading to your site.

These are just a few stops along the path to search engine optimization advantage. They’ll get you started, but if you want the top spots on Google’s search page results, you’ll need a lot more. There are a ton of articles and services available to help you master SEO and catapult your website to the front pages.

The Benefits Of Search Engine Optimization Services 2

Newcomers to the Internet business may be intimidated by the large amount of competitors you'll find no matter what your business is, and search engine optimization services may be what you need to get ahead of the competition. Your product may be better than others or your service the best you'll find in the area, but other companies could still show up on search engines before you and you might not understand why. That's why the professionals are there to help you get your site and your business to the number one spot.

Make sure the people you hire are actually the professionals and not just con artists looking to make a quick dollar at your expense. People who know what they are doing will get to know you and what you want from their services, rather than simply ask for a keyword and go about their business. Companies that have been doing search engine optimization for a long time and have a long list of positive reviews are more likely to be a legit company that will help your website, not harm it.

If you haven't made your site yet it could be beneficial to have SEO services create your entire website's text for you, since they'll be able to place keywords in the text without making it seem choppy or forced. Some companies can even create a web address for your site which will make it even more noticeable to the search engines.

If search engine optimization services mention using a doorway page or white text on a white background, go a different route immediately. Companies which get people to look at your site by these techniques ignore search engine regulations and can get your website banned from the search engines completely.

If you've got your site set up how you like it with all the information on it that you feel it needs, search engine optimization services can also provide your business with link building to other sites. Link building takes your web page's link and places it on a series of other sites that pertain to your business and every time someone gets to your site through that link it's as if you're getting an extra vote. The more votes, the higher up on the results you'll find your site. Having a link to a specific pet store placed on a local vet's website is a good example of link building.

Rates for services depend on how much work you need done on your business's website as well as how long you'd like the service to continue for. Some companies provide long-term maintenance to your site to ensure that your site keeps up with changes in the search engine guidelines. Most companies will offer writers for placing keywords in text either for your site or articles to link your site to.

The Benefits Of Search Engine Optimization Services

No matter what your business's online needs, search engine optimization services are prepared to make your site soar above the rest.

Finding The Truth What Does SEO Stand For

Many people are aware of the term of SEO floating around the Internet, but just what does SEO stand for? The simple answer: it stands for search engine optimization. That’s not very helpful though, so let’s look at it more in depth. What we can find just from the name is that SEO is a process to optimize for search engines. Well, we all know what search engines are, but what does it mean to optimize for them?

Well, SEO is mainly a marketing technique to make a website more visible to search engines. We’re all familiar with what takes place when we search for something on Google or Yahoo! search: the site gives us several pages of results. Did you know that most people only bother clicking on results found on the first page of a search? Sometimes a search can result in 10 or 20 pages of results… and the average user often ignores all those extra pages.

Search engine optimization is just a bunch of fancy words… really, what does SEO stand for? SEO means more visitors, more traffic, and if you’ve got a product, more sales. SEO is integral to a good marketing campaign – there’s no two ways around it.

So, for people looking to sell something on their web page or even just to attract a bigger audience for their blog or podcast, SEO is very important. The goal is to get a web site to appear on the very first page of any search engine’s results when searching for specific words or phrases. These words or phrases are known as keywords – they’re your best friends when it comes to search engine optimization.

There are a number of resources you can find on the web that will teach you how to use keywords. For instance, some tools will tell you how often a certain keyword phrase is searched for, and show you other, similar keywords. These other keywords might allow you to expand the focus of your web page to attract more visitors. You can also use this information to target keywords that are less common on the Internet – which allows you to corner the market.

Keywords aren’t the only search engine optimization tool you can use. Another important aspect of SEO is linking. Search engines basically use links to a website as references, like when an employer calls up past employers to find out how good an applicant is. The more legitimate references or links to a website, the higher that the site will be ranked in the search engines. Creating links between your pages is a great way to enhance SEO.

Keywords and linking is just the tip of the search engine optimization iceberg. There are many more advanced techniques that can be used to bring a site to the top of the search page ranks and keep it there. This is just an introduction, but now you know the answer to the question; what does SEO stand for?

Discover Internet Online Marketing Advertising Business Solutions

When you decide to use the internet as your marketplace, you are opening yourself up to nearly endless possibilities to achieve business success through harnessing the power of the internet.  Discover online marketing advertising business solutions that can help get the word out about how valuable your products or services can be to potential clients or customers.  Rather than struggling through working on every step of the traditional marketing process on your own, you can instead take advantage of valuable programs and services that can automate steps and help to keep you on the right track to success.  First, you will need to identify the subset of the market that you want to reach.  Next, you need to determine how best to differentiate your business to gain their patronage.  And finally, you can choose the best online marketing solutions to advance your goals.

Not any people have products and services that will appeal to every sector of the marketplace.  Instead, it is far more likely that your products and services will only appeal to a fraction of that marketplace.  Why waste your time and efforts and advertising dollars on people who will never be interested in your services?  Instead, there are two distinct groups in any market to which your products or services your business belongs that you should target.  The first is people who are most likely to need or want the products or services that you offer.  The second are one level farther out and are those who may benefit but are not yet convinced of their need for what you offer.  You should work up a profile of both of these groups in order to most effectively reach out to them with your internet online marketing advertising business solutions.

Next, you will need to figure out how you can make your business stand out from the competition.  If a dozen different businesses offer the exact same service, why should your offerings stand out from your competitors?  If you can not figure out any ways, they may not yet exist.  If this is the case, you will need to do work to determine what you can add on to your products and services offerings in order to make them appeal to your identified audiences.  Perhaps you can offer free shipping, or a free gift with purchase.  For services, consider offering an introductory rate, or periodic bonuses.  Any way that can make your product more valuable will net you more clients.

Finally, you can look at what online tools you can use to get the word out about your differentiated products and services to the two layers of identified target audience members.  For advertisements, take the guesswork out of when they will display and to whom.  Instead, use keyword based services so that your ad only displays to relevant individuals.  You can also look at ways to send mass emails, updates or newsletters on a periodic basis to keep your potential clients up to date on how you can best serve their needs.  When you discover internet online marketing advertising business solutions, you will be able to utilize methods to maximize your profit potential and maintain loyal clients.

The Key To Internet Marketing For Online Businesses

The key to marketing for online businesses is simple: branding. Branding has been a marketing buzzword for a very long time. It has caused a flurry of redesigned corporate logos, spiffy new letterheads, mission statements, rewritten mission statements, and even theme songs, and an endless stream of focus groups to guide the process. All of this can play a role, but branding is simpler than that, really. It’s letting customers know who you are, what you do, and how you do it (and it doesn’t hurt if they come away believing you’re better at what you do than your competition).

If you want to create an identity for your online business, you need to define your brand up front. When customers arrive at your website, the first thing they should see should be what you do and why they should care. There are way too many websites that bombard you with flashy graphics and catchy slogans, yet leave it to you, the potential customer, to figure out what the heck they actually do! This is wrong, dead wrong. The best thing you can do is spell it out. Who you are and what you do should be immediately clear and unmistakable.

A potential customer doesn’t know who you are. The best way to make them care about who you are, is to start with what you do, not who you are. This may not make sense at first, but the most important concept of Internet marketing for online business is that your message should always start with stating a benefit for the customer. What’s in it for them? Then, once they know what you can do for them, you can tell them who you are, and introduce your spiffy logo or flashy graphics.

Rather than trying to get readers, visitors or users, think in terms of creating fans. “Users” visit your site, maybe subscribe to your newsletter, and buy your products or services. “Fans” are better—they rave about how great you are to their friends, cheer you on, and breathlessly await news about what you’re up to professionally. It shouldn’t be too hard to see why fans are better than users.

As much as you love that spinning flash graphic that takes ten minutes to load, the word’s the thing on the internet. What matters most online is what words you use. Don’t believe it? Fire up your search engine. Go on, do it. Ready? Good. Now search by really cool flash graphic and let me know what you come up with. Don’t worry, I won’t hold my breath. If you want online fans, you need to give useful, interesting brand-related content. A conversational tone is best. Write like you’re talking to someone. After all, would you rather listen to a real person talking, or a list of bullet points?

Words are supreme, but visual elements are still important. (You can sigh in relief now, knowing you’ll still be able to use your spinning flash logo). The visual elements should reinforce your identity and message. In other words, don’t decorate. Communicate.

The key to Internet marketing for online businesses is simple. It’s branding. And all branding means is letting them know what you do, how you do it, and who you are.

The Many Forms Of Internet Advertising

If you have a small business that you are actively trying to promote, then there is no doubt that you will be able to capitalize on the many different forms of internet advertising available. These methods include: search engine optimization, pay per click advertising, online newsletters, and website advertising.

Search engine optimization is the process of making your site more easily found by search engines. These search engines send out spiders which scan your page for any key words; they use this information in order to better rank your webpage on their result lists. SEO can be difficult to achieve correctly.

You must maintain a good balance of keywords in the content of your site. Too many of the same word can get you banned; so don’t think you can fill up a page with the same key word in order to get a high ranking. Put key words in the title tag of your webpage, in the headings, and in the major paragraphs.

One of the more popular and successful forms of internet advertising are monthly email newsletters. All you need to do is offer to send the visitors to your website a free newsletter each month when they give you their email addresses. This is a great way to market your business because you are reaching the same person repeatedly.

Every time you send out a newsletter you are giving the recipient another chance to take advantage of your services. The best part is that you can eventually get hundreds or thousands of people to sign up for you newsletter. Just make sure that you are sending them a quality email each month that is written professionally. If you are not a writer, then you can hire someone to perform this task for you.

Pay per click ads are offered by search engines such as Google and are a great way to promote your business. The way they work is simple. They will put your ad on the search results that are relevant to your site based on the keywords that you supply them with. Whenever a person clicks on one of your ads, you will have to pay a small fee, usually a few cents to a dollar or so.

The cost depends on the keywords that you use and how high up they show your add. You don’t have to worry about being charged too much either; you set your monthly budget and once that runs out your ads will stop being shown for the remainder of the month.

The final method of online advertising that will be discussed is website advertising. Most websites that operate solely by content offer ad space on their sites. There are some sites that offer very inexpensive ad space, while others can only be afforded by large corporations. When advertising on websites, do your best to pick a site that is relevant to the business that you are advertising on it.

If you try out these forms of internet advertising you will be amazed at how well your website performs.

Profit By Internet Marketing Techniques

The Internet offers a unique opportunity to market your product or service without investing a lot of money. You might find you need to invest considerable time and effort, but you can’t really expect to succeed at anything without investing time and effort, can you? The uniqueness of the Internet as a way of communicating means you must adapt your marketing strategies to take advantage of its strengths.

The place to start is your website. If you’re trying to market your product or service over the Internet, you no doubt have a website. Once your site has been carefully written to tell people what you do, how you do it, who you are, and why they need what you do, and carefully designed to support that message, it will hopefully start generating some traffic.

Track and analyze that traffic. Most web hosting companies offer traffic analysis data to clients. It is probably your best tool to evaluate the effectiveness of your website’s performance and your marketing techniques. If you take the time to understand the data, you can start to understand what makes your audience tick. Is one page attracting most of the traffic? Is there one page out of a series of pages where audience members tend to ‘tune out’ and stop clicking? This can be a handy way to figure out what parts of your website need to be spiffed up.

Where do your audiences come from? The data can tell you that too. You can find what search terms got them there, what sites they’re coming from, how long they’re staying, etc. All this information updates regularly, so you can assess the effectiveness of any changes you make.

Try to get quality companies who do things that relate to what you do to link to your site. Links generate traffic. Of course, you won’t get many competitors foolish enough to link to you, but whatever you do; there are no doubt companies with good reputations who do something relevant to what you’re doing. Link building is one of the Internet marketing techniques that can dramatically increase your link popularity. Your link popularity is a major part of how your site gets ranked by search engines.

If your site isn’t intended to sell a product or gain a customer, what is it for? Seriously! Think about it. Your Internet marketing techniques should have a clear purpose, and every page on your site should focus on getting the visitor to take an action. That doesn’t necessarily mean buying something from you immediately. It can be as simple as filling out a form, sending an email, making a phone call, or just moving along to the next step in the process.

Your website shouldn’t just be a billboard announcing that you’re open for business. No offense, but um… So what? No, you want to compel visitors to follow along a specific, well thought out, carefully mapped path that leads to a sale. Your internet marketing techniques should be designed to lead the potential customer, step by step, into a sale, not attempting to bully them into hastily buying from you.

The Basics Of Internet Market Research

If you are going to have a successful internet business, then it is important that you know the basics of internet market research. Internet marketing is any way that you seek to improve the awareness of your business in the online marketplace. It is common for a person to dive haphazardly into internet marketing programs without knowing their target audience, or even enough about their business.

This is what makes internet market research so important. By conducting this research you are better prepared to know who your target audience is as well as the best methods of reaching them.

Many companies find that the markets in which they serve are filled with customers, competitors, and continually changing marketing conditions. Meeting the demands of these constantly changing market conditions is one of the most difficult aspects of marketing. It is because of this that market research is so important.

The same marketing techniques that work today are not guaranteed to work in the future. This marketing research can provide information on what the target market is going to look like in the future, and how to prepare for it.

Research is the process of gathering information in order to learn about something. Yes, that is a simple definition of something that is actually quite complicated. For the marketer, research is not simply for the purpose of learning, but is an extremely important ingredient in the decision making process.

Internet market research will give you a full picture of both what is occurring and what is about to occur in the marketplace. When it is performed well it can let you know what the best choices are to be made. Marketing decisions are less risky when you have looked at all available options.

There are countless decisions to be made in business that are effected by marketing; these include: target markets, products, distribution, promotion, pricing, external factors, and others. Each of these marketing segments will require research. It is important that you perform the correct research for each of these segments or you will be wasting your time.

Because marketing involves people, it is one of the social sciences. Social science is the study of people and how they react to different situations. In marketing, you study people and how they react to different marketing campaigns. Many marketing research techniques, such as surveys for example, are in actuality scientific experiments.

Not all marketing research will require studies to be performed, but if these studies are not performed correctly then they are producing inaccurate results. Of course, any research, no matter how well performed, has the ability to be wrong. It is because of this that you must undertake many different methods of research in order to produce the most accurate results. Research reliability depends on making sure that the data gathering leads to accurate results. If you always make sure to conduct the proper Internet market research, you will find that your business will be much more profitable than if you had not.

What is Hormonal Imbalance – Symptoms, Diagnosis, Causes & Effect

If a teenager acts up or sulks because he or she has not been allowed to go to a party, parents usually excuse this behaviour by saying, “Oh, it is those over-active teenage hormones working again.” When a woman gets into an argument with her boyfriend or husband, the man would usually throw in one particular accusation during the quarrel, “You are just being unreasonable and hormonal.” This has caused hormones to have a very bad reputation since a majority of people have the misconception that these chemicals within the human body are responsible for erratic behaviour and emotional instability. However, hormones actually do a lot of useful things for people. They stimulate growth, regulate metabolism, activate the immune system, and prepare the body for reproduction. But when the levels of hormones present in the body are not in their proper balance, then problems will occur. People will start to exhibit hormone imbalance symptoms which can cause issues that affect their general health and well-being.
Hormonal Imbalance Symptoms
Teen Hormonal Deficiency
In young people like teens, though it is normal for them to be moody and unpredictable because of the large amounts of hormones in their systems that serve to prepare their bodies for adulthood, these symptoms can be problematic if they continue for an extended period of time. Some of the typical symptoms of a hormonal imbalance in teens are depression, insomnia, irritability, and migraines. Women who suffer from hormone imbalance, meanwhile, display symptoms such as headaches, fatigue, dizziness, obesity, hair loss, mood swings, and wrinkles. Men, on the other hand, experience symptoms like abdominal weight gain, breast enlargement, erectile dysfunction, prostrate disease, heart disease, and decreased libido. The hormonal imbalance causes for these symptoms can range from a variety of sources. For teens, their constant exposure to different kinds of chemicals that can be found in the environment can cause their hormonal levels to be unbalanced. Some of these chemicals are present in beauty products, garden cleaners, pesticides, and plastics. Women’s hormone levels can be affected through consuming food products that contain large amounts of oestrogen such as meat or milk from animals that have been given hormones. Some vegetables and fruits are also capable of increasing oestrogen levels in a female’s body. The hormone levels in men can also be influenced by the foods they consume. The production of testosterone can be affected by a diet that has a low content of fibre yet large amounts of fat.
Progesterone Deficiency Symptoms
Senior Hormonal Symptoms
It is therefore important for teenagers, women, and men to be mindful of the effects the environment and other factors such as stress can have on their hormone levels and their health. One of the most common hormonal imbalance disorders is a deficiency in the progesterone hormone levels in the body. Progesterone is one of the most important hormones in females since it is responsible for initiating changes in the endometrium during the second part of a woman’s menstrual cycle. It prepares the uterus for the successful implantation and development of a fertilized egg, and it maintains the proper functioning of the uterus throughout the entire period of pregnancy. The hormone is responsible for ensuring that the placenta functions correctly and fighting off any cells that could potentially harm the foetus. It also strengthens the mucus that covers the cervix to prevent the occurrence of infections, among other functions. The progesterone deficiency symptoms include breast tenderness, ovarian cysts, water retention, irregular periods, and early miscarriage or abortion of the foetus. For more information regarding hormonal imbalances such as its causes, symptoms, and available treatments, the other articles on this website would provide you with several facts and tips. Plus, there is a link that is very helpful for individuals who need guidance before getting disability insurance in order for them to choose one that is most suitable for their needs. About Facebook

Adrian Wyld/Canadian Press, Via Associated Press

Facebook, the world's largest social network, announced in July 2010 that it had 500 million users around the world. The company has grown at a meteoric pace, doubling in size since 2009 and pushing international competitors aside. Its policies, more than those of any other company, are helping to define standards for privacy in the Internet age.
The company, founded in 2004 by a Harvard sophomore, Mark Zuckerberg, began life catering first to Harvard students and then to all high school and college students. It has since evolved into a broadly popular online destination used by both teenagers and adults of all ages. In country after country, Facebook is cementing itself as the leader and often displacing other social networks, much as it outflanked MySpace in the United States.
But it has also come to be seen as one of the new titans of the Internet, challenging even Google with a vision of a Web tied together through personal relationships and recommendations, rather than by search algorithms. In a major expansion, Facebook has spread itself across other Web sites by offering members the chance to "Like'' something — share it with their network — without leaving the Web page they're on.
In May 2011, Facebook was working on developing features that will make the sharing of users’ favorite music, television shows and other media as much a part of its site as playing games or posting vacation photos.
The company was in discussions with several online music services, including the European company Spotify, to develop a tab or widget that would display a user’s most-played songs and provide an easy way for friends to hear them. Facebook wants to do the same for other kinds of media, like video and news.
Analysts and media executives said the company’s move into media was part of its ambition to become a hub for all types of activities on the Internet.
The company raised $500 million from Goldman Sachs and a Russian investor in January 2011 in a deal that values the company at $50 billion — more than companies like eBay, Yahoo and Time Warner. The stake by Goldman Sachs, considered one of Wall Street’s savviest investors, signals the increasing might of Facebook, which has already been bearing down on giants like Google.
Facebook has increasingly been seen as the only company to pose a threat to Google, which has used its dominant position in search and online ad placement to expand into most corners of the Web. But as a closed network, Facebook's oceans of content are out of the reach of Google's search engines, and some analysts think the personal recommendations made through Facebook networks could become a rival to the algorithm-based results pioneered by Google.
In one sign of how much Facebook regards Google as a competitor, The Daily Beast reported that in May 2011 Facebook had hired a public relations firm to persuade reporters and privacy advocates to write stories critical of a new Google service, Social Circles.
Privacy is a sore subject for Facebook, which has made a series of stumbles on the subject. With the potential for legal and regulatory clashes growing along with its influence, the company has layered its executive, legal, policy and communications ranks with high-powered politicos from both parties, beefing up its firepower for future battles in Washington and beyond.
Disputed Origins
The company's rise has been marked by strings of controversies. Three other Harvard students maintain that they came up with the original idea and that Mr. Zuckerberg, whom they had hired to write code for the site, stole the idea to create Facebook. Facebook has denied the allegations. A long-running lawsuit is pending. Another Harvard classmate, Aaron Greenspan, claims that he created the underlying architecture for both companies, but has declined to enter the legal battle.
A 2010 movie about Facebook’s tumultuous origins, "The Social Network," offered up what A.O. Scott called "a creation story for the digital age and something of a morality tale, one driven by desire, marked by triumph, tainted by betrayal and inspired by the new gospel: the geek shall inherit the earth."
Facebook has strenuously, and Mr. Zuckerberg more quietly, asserted that the portrayal of the company's founding is fiction. And Mr. Zuckerberg disputed the characterization of him in the film, though in a New Yorker magazine profile, he acknowledged having indulged in a bit of sophomoric arrogance.
Privacy Concerns
Like other social networks, Facebook allows its users to create a profile page and forge online links with friends and acquaintances. It has distinguished itself from rivals, partly by imposing a spartan design ethos and limiting how users can change the appearance of their profile pages. That has cut down on visual clutter and threats like spam, which plague rivals. It has decisively outstripped other networks that preceded it, like MySpace and Friendster, becoming what many analysts see as the "default platform'' of a new age of information organized around personal relationships.
The back and forth between Facebook and its users over privacy is gaining importance as the company's growth continues unabated. Facebook's policies, more than those of any other company, are helping to define standards for privacy in the Internet age.
Bowing to pressure over privacy concerns, the company in May 2010 unveiled a set of controls that he said would help people understand what they were sharing online, and with whom.
Facebook's biggest mistake, Mr. Zuckerman said, had been in failing to notice that as Facebook added new features and its privacy controls grew increasingly complicated, those controls became effectively unusable for many people.
In October 2010, Facebook acknowledged that some applications on its site, including the popular game FarmVille, had improperly shared identifying information about users, and in some cases their friends, with advertisers and Web tracking companies. The company said it was talking to application developers about how they handled personal information, and was looking at ways to prevent this from happening again.
The Goldman Deal
In January 2011, Facebook raised $500 million from Goldman Sachs and a Russian investor in a transaction that values the company at $50 billion. As part of the deal with Facebook, the bank could raise as much as $1.5 billion from investors for Facebook. The new money will give the company more firepower to steal away valuable employees, develop new products and possibly pursue acquisitions — all without being a publicly traded company. The investment may also allow earlier shareholders, including Facebook employees, to cash out at least some of their stakes.
The new investment came as the Securities and Exchange Commission has begun an inquiry into the increasingly hot private market for shares in Internet companies, including Facebook, Twitter, the gaming site Zynga and LinkedIn, an online professional networking site. Some experts suggest the inquiry is focused on whether certain companies are improperly using the private market to get around public disclosure requirements.
Also in January, catching many off guard, Goldman said that it would limit its Facebook offering to foreign investors, excluding clients in the United States because of worries that the deal could run afoul of securities.
The offering to high-net-worth clients was supposed to have been a triumph for the firm, not the serious embarrassment it became. Goldman has been trying to move past run-ins with regulators, including a $550 million settlement with the Securities and Exchange Commission in 2010 over a complex mortgage investment. The Facebook plan will likely raise new questions about whether Goldman tried to push regulatory boundaries once again.
Mr. Zuckerberg had sought to keep close control over the company, spurning a $1 billion offer from Yahoo in 2006 and playing down the idea of a stock offering. But in the wake of the Goldman investment, Facebook said that it will begin reporting its financial results by April 2012, setting the stage for a likely IPO.
The company, based in Palo Alto, Calif., earned $355 million on $1.2 billion in revenue during the first nine months of 2010, according to a document prepared by Goldman for potential investors. That is up from $220 million in earnings on $770 million in sales in 2009.

A new iPad is hours away, what do you think we’ll see?

Today Apple will have its March 2nd event and we’ll finally get to meet the iPad 2. Things might not be exactly as they have been in the past, with Steve Jobs on medical leave, but you can bet there will be a a lot to talk about before, during, and after the unveiling of the new iPad (and anything else today may bring).
We’ve heard a tremendous amount of rumors about the next iPad, opening the door to a multitude of possibilities. Maybe the iPad 2 will be available in white, with DisplayPort, Thunderbolt, a carbon fiber back, and a 7-inch screen, just to combine some of the less likely rumors. Maybe it will be delayed, maybe it will have an SD slot, and a high resolution display. Or maybe it’ll be a rather slight improvement on the original iPad, making for something akin to an iPad 1.5. It’s still anyone’s guess right now.
The rumor mill is going strong, with some people seemingly more informed than others. We don’t have any special information, but we’ve done a lot of reading and we’re guessing that some of you have as well.  So fill us in–based on your reading and experience, give us an educated guess on what you think think the iPad 2 will be like.
I’ll kick things off with my personal guess, and then please do continue in the comments.
I’m guessing the iPad 2 will not be a revolutionary change from the iPad, in fact I’m playing this one very conservative. I’m not expecting a higher resolution display, a carbon fiber back, a 7-inch screen, or any of the more extreme things we’ve heard. In my estimation we’ll see a modest spec bump (hopefully to a dual-core processor, but almost definitely faster and with more RAM), front/rear cameras, and some slight changes to the chassis. These changes could make for a thinner, sleeker iPad and possibly something with improved audio. I’m torn on the issue of NFC–some outlets seemed very confident of it, but talk has tapered off in the last month–but my guess is we don’t see it tomorrow.
I’m guessing the iPad 2 will be the iPhone 3GS  equivalent–it’ll get an already compelling and competitive product to up speed with the competition and it’ll throw in a few cool features so iPad owners have to at least consider upgrading. I see these as being a performance bump, the FaceTime camera, a rear camera, and possibly an SD card slot. I’d guess we see a late March to early April release date and, yes, I do think it will come in white.
What do you expect to see?

Was burying bin Laden at sea a mistake?

Amid the justified celebrations over the killing of Osama bin Laden, an awkward question is starting to rear its head: Did U.S. policymakers err in burying the al Qaeda leader at sea?
Already, the decision has provoked criticism from some Islamic scholars, who say a maritime burial isn't in keeping with Muslim law. And there are signs that the move could help fuel skepticism, especially among President Obama's critics, about whether bin Laden was really killed at all.
The Pentagon has said the body was treated in accordance with traditional Islamic procedures--including washing the corpse--before it was placed in the waters of the northern Arabian Sea.
U.S. officials have said they wanted to avoid the al Qaeda leader's grave site becoming a shrine for his followers. They've also said it would have been difficult to find a foreign country willing to accept bin Laden's remains, especially in so short a time: Islamic tradition and practice call for the body of the deceased to be buried within 24 hours of death.
But several Muslim authorities said today that the sea burial in fact violated Muslim tradition--and warned that it could help trigger calls for revenge from militant Muslims.
The sea burial "runs contrary to the principles of Islamic laws, religious values and humanitarian customs," Sheik Ahmed al-Tayeb, the grand Imam of Cairo's al-Azhar mosque, told the AP.
And Mohammed al-Qubaisi, Dubai's grand mufti, echoed that view. "If the family does not want him, it's really simple in Islam: You dig up a grave anywhere, even on a remote island, you say the prayers and that's it."
He added: "Sea burials are permissible for Muslims in extraordinary circumstances," he added. "This is not one of them."
And Abdul-Sattar al-Janabi, who preaches at Baghdad's Abu Hanifa mosque declared: "It is not acceptable, and it is almost a crime to throw the body of a Muslim man into the sea," adding that the action "might provoke some Muslims."
But the religious verdict may not be quite that open and shut. Imam Shamsi Ali, of the Islamic Cultural Center of New York, told The Lookout that in emergency circumstances, any Islamic law can be overlooked. "For example, you're not allowed to eat pork," he said, but added that if you were starving to death, it would be considered acceptable. Ali said that because the United States appears to have been unable to find a country to take bin Laden's body within 24 hours, this might have qualified as such an emergency.
Islamic practices aside, the decision is already triggering conspiracy theories that cast doubt on whether bin Laden is truly dead--even though DNA testing is said to have confirmed with virtual certainty that the al Qaeda leader was indeed killed. An assertion by Pakistan's Taliban that bin Laden is still living was picked up on several users of the conservative website FreeRepublic.com. In addition, one writer on the Andrew Breitbart website Big Peace called for bin Laden's body to be"digitally scanned" so that Americans could verify his death for themselves. On Twitter, Emily Miller, an editor at the conservative Washington Times, demanded a photo of the body as "proof."
Skepticism could only increase in some quarters if the Obama administration declines to release photos of bin Laden's body.  No decision has yet been made on that question, according to White House counter-terror adviser John Brennan, who said this afternoon that doing so could jeopardize future operations.

Lohan Challenges Lively For Film Roles

Actress Lindsay Lohan is getting serious about making a movie comeback, insisting she's keen to challenge Blake Lively for roles in two new movies.

Lohan, who is currently in talks to portray Victoria Gotti in the upcoming mob film "Gotti: Three Generations," reveals she's particularly interested in going head to head with Lively to play a good with in "Oz: The Great & Powerful," opposite pal James Franco, and in Oliver Stone's latest film "Savages."

She tells the New York Post, "I think the only role I could play is Glinda (The Good Witch). I'll only do the movie if I can work with (James Franco). We're, like, best friends."

Franco has been cast as the leading man in the film, while Mila Kunis is also reportedly onboard the project.

The "Mean Girls" actress also expressed interest in Oliver Stone's stoner drama "Savages," stating, "Thats the role I really want."

Lohan is keen to make her mark as an actress again following a string of film flops and two years of legal woes and personal crises, which culminated in prison and rehab stints in 2010. (Cebu Daily News)

Plasma TV

General characteristics

A 103" plasma display panel by Panasonic
Plasma displays are bright (1,000 lux or higher for the module), have a wide color gamut, and can be produced in fairly large sizes—up to 150 inches (3.8 m) diagonally. They have a very low-luminance "dark-room" black level compared to the lighter grey of the unilluminated parts of an LCD screen (i.e. the blacks are blacker on plasmas and greyer on LCDs).[1] LED-backlit LCD televisions have been developed to reduce this distinction. The display panel itself is about 6 cm (2.5 inches) thick, generally allowing the device's total thickness (including electronics) to be less than 10 cm (4 inches). Plasma displays use as much power per square meter as a CRT or an AMLCD television.[citation needed] Power consumption varies greatly with picture content, with bright scenes drawing significantly more power than darker ones - this is also true of CRTs. Typical power consumption is 400 watts for a 50-inch (127 cm) screen. 200 to 310 watts for a 50-inch (127 cm) display when set to cinema mode. Most screens are set to 'shop' mode by default, which draws at least twice the power (around 500-700 watts) of a 'home' setting of less extreme brightness. Panasonic has greatly reduced power consumption ("1/3 of 2007 models")  Panasonic claims that PDPs will consume only half the power of their previous series of plasma sets to achieve the same overall brightness for a given display size. The lifetime of the latest generation of plasma displays is estimated at 100,000 hours of actual display time, or 27 years at 10 hours per day. This is the estimated time over which maximum picture brightness degrades to half the original value.
Plasma display screens are made from glass, which reflects more light than the material used to make an LCD screen.[citation needed] This causes glare from reflected objects in the viewing area. Companies such as Panasonic coat their newer plasma screens with an anti-glare filter material.[citation needed] Currently, plasma panels cannot be economically manufactured in screen sizes smaller than 32 inches. Although a few companies have been able to make plasma EDTVs this small, even fewer have made 32in plasma HDTVs. With the trend toward larger and larger displays, the 32in screen size is rapidly disappearing. Though considered bulky and thick compared to their LCD counterparts, some sets such as Panasonic's Z1 and Samsung's B860 series are as slim as one inch thick making them comparable to LCDs in this respect.
Competing display technologies include CRT, OLED, LCD, DLP, SED, LED, FED, and QLED.

Plasma display advantages and disadvantages

Advantages

  • Picture quality
    • Produces deep blacks allowing for superior contrast ratio
    • Much wider viewing angles than those of LCD; images do not suffer from degradation at high angles unlike LCDs
    • No visible motion blur, thanks in large part to very high refresh rates and a faster response time, contributing to superior performance when displaying content with significant amounts of rapid motion[6][7][9][10]
  • Physical
    • Slim profile
    • Can be wall mounted
    • Less bulky than rear-projection televisions

Disadvantages

  • Picture quality
    • Earlier generation displays were more susceptible to screen burn-in and image retention, although most recent models have a pixel orbiter that moves the entire picture faster than is noticeable to the human eye, which reduces the effect of burn-in but does not prevent it. However, turning off individual pixels does counteract screen burn-in on modern plasma displays.
    • Earlier generation displays (2006 and prior) had phosphors that lost luminosity over time, resulting in gradual decline of absolute image brightness (newer models are less susceptible to this, having lifespans exceeding 100,000 hours, far longer than older CRT technology)
    • Earlier generation (circa 2001 and earlier) models were susceptible to "large area flicker"
    • Heavier screen-door effect when compared to LCD or OLED based TVs[citation needed]
  • Physical
    • Generally do not come in smaller sizes than 37 inches[6][7]
    • Heavier than LCD due to the requirement of a glass screen to hold the gases
  • Other
    • Use more electricity, on average, than an LCD TV
    • Do not work as well at high altitudes due to pressure differential between the gases inside the screen and the air pressure at altitude. It may cause a buzzing noise. Manufacturers rate their screens to indicate the altitude parameters.
    • For those who wish to listen to AM radio, or are Amateur Radio operators (Hams) or Shortwave Listeners (SWL), the Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) from these devices can be irritating or disabling.
    • Due to the strong infrared emissions inherent with the technology, standard IR repeater systems can not be used in the viewing room. A more expensive "plasma compatible" sensor must be used.[citation needed]

Native plasma television resolutions

Fixed-pixel displays such as plasma TVs scale the video image of each incoming signal to the native resolution of the display panel. The most common native resolutions for plasma display panels are 853×480 (EDTV), 1,366×768 or 1,920×1,080 (HDTV). As a result picture quality varies depending on the performance of the video scaling processor and the upscaling and downscaling algorithms used by each display manufacturer.[16][17]

Enhanced-definition plasma television

Early plasma televisions were enhanced-definition (ED) with a native resolution of 840×480 (discontinued) or 853×480, and down-scaled their incoming high definition signals to match their native display resolution.

ED Resolutions

  • 840×480
  • 853×480

High-definition plasma television

Early high-definition (HD) plasma displays had a resolution of 1024x1024 and were alternate lighting of surfaces (ALiS) panels made by Fujitsu/Hitachi.These were interlaced displays, with non-square pixels.
Modern HDTV plasma televisions usually have a resolution of 1,024×768 found on many 42 inch plasma screens, 1,280×768, 1,366×768 found on 50 in, 60 in, and 65 in plasma screens, or 1,920×1,080 found in plasma screen sizes from 42 inch to 103 inch. These displays are usually progressive displays, with square pixels, and will up-scale their incoming standard-definition signals to match their native display resolution.

HD Resolutions

  • 1024×1024
  • 1024×768
  • 1280×768
  • 1366×768
  • 1280×1080
  • 1920×1080

How plasma displays work

Composition of plasma display panel
A panel typically has millions of tiny cells in compartmentalized space between two panels of glass. These compartments, or "bulbs" or "cells", hold a mixture of noble gases and a minuscule amount of mercury. Just as in the fluorescent lamps over an office desk, when the mercury is vaporized and a voltage is applied across the cell, the gas in the cells form a plasma. With flow of electricity (electrons), some of the electrons strike mercury particles as the electrons move through the plasma, momentarily increasing the energy level of the molecule until the excess energy is shed. Mercury sheds the energy as ultraviolet (UV) photons. The UV photons then strike phosphor that is painted on the inside of the cell. When the UV photon strikes a phosphor molecule, it momentarily raises the energy level of an outer orbit electron in the phosphor molecule, moving the electron from a stable to an unstable state; the electron then sheds the excess energy as a photon at a lower energy level than UV light; the lower energy photons are mostly in the infrared range but about 40% are in the visible light range. Thus the input energy is shed as mostly heat (infrared) but also as visible light. Depending on the phosphors used, different colors of visible light can be achieved. Each pixel in a plasma display is made up of three cells comprising the primary colors of visible light. Varying the voltage of the signals to the cells thus allows different perceived colors.
A plasma display panel is an array of hundreds of thousands of small, luminous cells positioned between two plates of glass. Each cell is essentially a tiny neon lamp filled with rarefied neon, xenon, and other inert gases; the cells are luminous when they are electrified through "electrodes".
The long electrodes are stripes of electrically conducting material that also lie between the glass plates, in front of and behind the cells. The "address electrodes" sit behind the cells, along the rear glass plate, and can be opaque. The transparent display electrodes are mounted in front of the cell, along the front glass plate. As can be seen in the illustration, the electrodes are covered by an insulating protective layer. Control circuitry charges the electrodes that cross paths at a cell, creating a voltage difference between front and back. Some of the atoms in the gas of a cell then lose electrons and become ionized, which creates an electrically conducting plasma of atoms, free electrons, and ions. The collisions of the flowing electrons in the plasma with the inert gas atoms leads to light emission; such light-emitting plasmas are known as glow discharges.[23][25][26]
In a monochrome plasma panel, the gas is usually mostly neon, and the color is the characteristic orange of a neon-filled lamp (or sign). Once a glow discharge has been initiated in a cell, it can be maintained by applying a low-level voltage between all the horizontal and vertical electrodes–even after the ionizing voltage is removed. To erase a cell all voltage is removed from a pair of electrodes. This type of panel has inherent memory. A small amount of nitrogen is added to the neon to increase hysteresis.[citation needed]
In color panels, the back of each cell is coated with a phosphor. The ultraviolet photons emitted by the plasma excite these phosphors, which give off visible light with colors determined by the phosphor materials. This aspect is comparable to fluorescent lamps and to the neon signs that use colored phosphors.
Every pixel is made up of three separate subpixel cells, each with different colored phosphors. One subpixel has a red light phosphor, one subpixel has a green light phosphor and one subpixel has a blue light phosphor. These colors blend together to create the overall color of the pixel, the same as a triad of a shadow mask CRT or color LCD. Plasma panels use pulse-width modulation (PWM) to control brightness: by varying the pulses of current flowing through the different cells thousands of times per second, the control system can increase or decrease the intensity of each subpixel color to create billions of different combinations of red, green and blue. In this way, the control system can produce most of the visible colors. Plasma displays use the same phosphors as CRTs, which accounts for the extremely accurate color reproduction when viewing television or computer video images (which use an RGB color system designed for CRT display technology).
Plasma displays should not be confused with liquid crystal displays (LCDs), another lightweight flat-screen display using very different technology. LCDs may use one or two large fluorescent lamps as a backlight source, but the different colors are controlled by LCD units, which in effect behave as gates that allow or block the passage of light from the backlight to red, green, or blue paint on the front of the LCD panel.
